We document complex cases in peer-reviewed dental journals. The focus is not only on the results, but on the planning, the clinical decisions and each step of treatment, sharing experience and methods that may be of value to fellow dentists.

Following its initial publication, the article was selected once again for publication in the annual Best of edition.
This case report describes in detail an immediate implant placement in the upper anterior region, followed by immediate restoration with a preoperatively fabricated, transcoronally screw-retained monolithic all-ceramic crown. Beyond the technical procedure, it offers an aesthetic comparison with a bridge restoration in the lower anterior region.

Aesthetics as the defining starting point forms the basis of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation in which functional and aesthetic parameters are given equal weight in treatment planning. Alongside three-dimensional implant planning and fully guided placement, The Facial Aesthetic Concept© developed by Zaritzki Fine Dentistry follows a structured treatment strategy that treats aesthetics and function not as additive, but as one inseparable system, with the final aesthetic and functional result as the guiding therapeutic framework.

Restoring severely damaged teeth with subgingival defects has long been regarded as "experimental dentistry" and anything but predictable. Yet orthodontic extrusion offers a tissue-preserving, minimally invasive pre-prosthetic alternative to surgical crown lengthening or extraction. It restores the biological width and so creates the foundation for a long-term stable prosthetic rehabilitation. This article presents indications, limitations and clinical implementation using a case example, and compares the approach with alternative treatments from both a health-economic and a patient perspective. From a preventive standpoint, orthodontic extrusion can be considered a first-line intervention that avoids prosthetic replacement altogether or at least postpones it to a later age.

The following case report describes immediate implant placement in the mandibular posterior region with transgingival healing and early definitive restoration. The aim of treatment was to functionally rehabilitate a fractured posterior tooth and provide the patient with a definitive replacement for the missing tooth within a short period of time.

Digital technologies, both in the dental practice and in the dental laboratory, open up new options in implantology for preserving peri-implant hard and soft tissue structures. In recent years, new treatment pathways have emerged, and not only in diagnostics.
