She came to us because she was unhappy with her smile. She felt her existing tooth shapes were too large, too coarse and too heavy. They made her feel older, and she was looking for a result that was finer, more feminine and more naturally hers. The diagnosis showed that this was about far more than aesthetics. Over the years, crowns, partial crowns and implant crowns had been added without the bite, tooth shapes and proportions ever being replanned as a whole. On top of this came severe inflammation, leaking crown margins and a bite that needed to be reorganised. The task, therefore, was not to make individual crowns look better. For the first time, everything was planned together.

Failing crowns, partial crowns and implant crowns with leaking margins and secondary decay. No functional coordination of bite height and tooth contacts. Aesthetically oversized, coarsely shaped and highly opaque teeth that did not integrate with the face, lips and overall proportions.
Not to correct individual teeth yet again, but to plan everything together for the first time. Aesthetics and function were therefore redefined from the ground up: tooth shapes, proportions and bite height, as well as the question of which elements of her previous smile should actually remain. At first, the patient was determined to keep the gap between her front teeth. In the Real Face Preview, she saw both versions directly in her own face for the first time, and changed her mind herself. To her, the new version looked finer, more feminine and far more harmonious. In parallel, the new bite height was developed and then tested under real conditions in the Test Drive. Only when shape, function and effect were right together were the definitive ceramics made.
An aesthetically and functionally stable full reconstruction with a redefined bite height, harmonised tooth contacts and biologically sound restoration margins. Aesthetically, the aim was finer, more feminine and more natural-looking tooth shapes, with proportions, translucency and surfaces that blend naturally with her face, lips and overall proportions.
Crowns, partial crowns and implant crowns were brought together into one aesthetic and functional reconstruction. The new tooth shapes look finer, more feminine and more natural; proportions, translucency and surface blend more calmly with her face and lips. The redefined bite height and tooth contacts had already been tested in the Test Drive and refined in the follow-ups before the definitive ceramics were made.
Perhaps the most important aesthetic turning point was the gap between her front teeth. At first, the patient was determined to keep it. For her, it was part of her character and identity. Only through the Real Face Preview could she actually see herself with an alternative, in her own face. Not as an abstract design, but on herself. She realised that the version without the gap matched far more closely how she wanted to see herself: finer, more feminine, fresher and more in keeping with her type. She could hardly have made this decision from a description or a model. She had to see herself to make it. That was the particular value of the Real Face Preview in this case: we did not decide what suited her. It gave her the chance to test her own idea, and to decide anew.
Four weeks for the definitive reconstruction, after the completed Test Drive.

The treatment shown represents an individual case. Treatment plans and results vary depending on the initial findings.
Perfect is the goal. But it must not look perfect. That is the hardest brief in dentistry, and it is decided in three places.
No one should see it. A restoration must not be more regular than the rest of your teeth. Light, surface and translucency are modelled on what is already there, not on an ideal. A tooth has texture, tiny irregularities, its own way of refracting light. That is exactly what is recreated. This is why the ceramics are handmade in a master laboratory, and the shade is matched during a try-in before anything is permanently placed.
It should feel exactly as it did before. Your tongue knows every millimetre of your mouth and finds every edge. Contact points, bite guidance and transitions are therefore crafted so that nothing new feels new. The spaces between your teeth also stay the way you know them. Floss should glide through just as it always has.
Nothing should be taken away. We fight for every millimetre of your own tooth. Every tooth begins with the same question: how much is necessary, and how little is enough? An inlay, as long as an inlay will hold. A partial crown when the biting surface is lost. A crown only when the tooth needs protection all the way round. We work under magnifying loupes at five times magnification and special LED light, with instruments made for this scale, and with the time it takes. Preserving tooth structure takes longer than removing it. That is why it takes longer here.
And because a restoration must suit not only the tooth but the face, everything begins with The Facial Aesthetic Concept©: the aesthetic goal is defined first, and bite guidance and load are built around it. What remains is the impression that nothing was done. Only that everything is right.
